JB Hall Jr. enters his third year at Idaho State. After two years as the safeties and assistant special teams coach, Hall will focus on the safeties in 2022. Hall coached a safeties unit that saw Adkin Aguirre earn second-team all-conference in 2019. 

Hall spent the 2018 season as the cornerbacks coach at Sacramento State and from 2015-18 he coached the corners at Montana. 

Hall served as a defensive graduate assistant at the University of Colorado from 2013-15. He was a wide receiver at Adams State from 2010-12 where he was a team captain each of those seasons.
