Battle was a stalwart linebacker for the Bengals from 1995-98, leading the team in tackles during his senior campaign with 73. A consistent player during his four years, he recorded 196 total tackles, and his stats improved each year, with 60 tackles as a freshman, 63 as a sophomore, and 70 as a junior.

Battle also picked off one career pass, during his freshman campaign 12 seconds into the second half against Southern Utah, returning it 20 yards for a touchdown that helped propel ISU to a victory.

Raven earned his degree in the spring of 2000 from Idaho State in physical education.

Raven and his wife Nicole reside in Pocatello. They have one daughter, Olivia (11-20-01)
