Jessica Rogers

Jessica Rogers enters her third season as an assistant coach at Idaho State. Rogers has played a part in the growth of the Bengal softball program on the field and in the classroom. In the last two years 20 Bengal softball players have earned academic all-conference accolades and eight players have earned Pacific Coast Softball Conference all-conference recognition. Amanda Fitzsimmons was named the PCSC 2012 Mountain Division Player of the Year for her performance at the plate in the circle where she pitched the Bengals to 11 wins.

Rogers is a former assistant coach and player for  the University of Texas San Antonio.

She began her coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach for the Roadrunners from 2007-2008. That season she worked with infielders and catchers and helped lead the Roadrunners to a Southland Conference Tournament appearance. Rogers then went on to serve as the assistant coach for St. Edward's University from 2008-09. While there, Rogers was in charge of the infielders, pitchers and catchers while aiding in the recruitment, strength and conditioning and academic monitoring of student athletes. While at St. Edward's, Rogers also led the Hilltoppers to a Heartland Conference Championship and NCAA Div. II South Central Regional Tournament appearance. Rogers returned to the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2009 as the assistant coach.

Rogers played for the University of Texas at San Antonio from 2003-2007. During her tenure, the Roadrunners won back-to-back-to-back conference titles and appeared in two NCAA Regional Tournaments. Rogers was a four-time Southland Conference First Team All-Conference honoree and three-time NFCA South All-Region honoree. She was also the 2005 Player and Hitter of the Year and the 2007 UTSA Female Athlete of the Year. Academically, she was a two-time ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American, a three-time CoSIDA All-District IV honoree and three-time Southland Conference Student-Athlete of the Year.

Rogers graduated with a Bachelors degree in kinesiology in 2006 from the University of Texas at San Antonio in December 2006. She earned a Masters degree in education in August 2008 also from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
