Biljana Jovanovska enters her first season with the Bengal track and field coaching staff after a decorated track and field career at Idaho State. She will be the volunteer assistant sprints coach.

Jovanovska came to Idaho State in January 2005 as a transfer from Eastern Michigan. During the 2006 season, she competed in both the indoor and outdoor campaigns where she helped the women’s distance medley relay team to a second-place conference finish. She also competed in both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2007, becoming a member of the 2007 women’s outdoor conference championship team.

Jovanovska brings a combined 15 years of track and field experience with her in her return to Pocatello. She was a six-year competitor for the Macedonian national team competing in the 4x100, 4x400, long jump, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash. In 2001, she took the high school state title in the 100-meter dash, long jump and 4x100 relay. In 2002, she finished fifth in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 4x100 relay at the Balcan Games in Ankara, Turkey.

Jovanovska graduated from Idaho State in 2007 with a bachelor’s in physical education. She then attended Kent State University, earning a master’s in sports management. She is married to husband, Mutale, and has one daughter, Savannah.
