Tyler Anderson has been a resident of the Pocatello area for the past few years working as a local police officer. Anderson graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BA in Spanish in 2016.

At the 2016 Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Anderson won the hammer throw title by throwing a personal record, 61.79m (202’9”). Anderson advanced to the NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round for the third time in his career. That same year he won the weight throw title at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. His personal record being 20.09m (65’11”).

While at the University of Wyoming, Anderson became the university’s farthest throwing Wyoming native in the hammer and weight throws. He earned University of Wyoming Top 10 recognition in the Hammer Throw (202’9”). He secured four all-conference honors and scored six times in Mountain West Conference Championship events.

Anderson served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile, speaking Spanish.

After graduating high school, Anderson attended Southern Utah University where he earned all-conference honors as a true freshman and scored three times at Summit League Track & Field Championship events.

Anderson graduated from Lovell High School in 2010. While there, he earned three state championships in the discus and two in the shot put.
