ABOUT IDAHO STATE
Idaho State looks to snap its eight-game non-winning streak. The Bengals have scored 14 goals this season and have out-shot opponents 183-to-179.
Amanda Ellsworth leads the Bengals with five goals scored. When Ellsworth is on target she is unstoppable as the freshman has scored on five of her eight shots on goal. She scored a season-high two goals from three shots on goal including the game-winning goal in the 4-1 victory over Northwest Nazarene in ISU's home opener.
Rachel Strawn, a junior forward, leads the Bengals in shots with 26 and shots on goal with 15. Nine different Bengals have scored at least one goal this season. Sophomore midfielder
Allyson Stainbrook leads the Bengals in assists with three while Strawn and
Ashley Jones have each had two assists.
ELLSWORTH POISED FOR GOAL SCORING OPPORTUNITY
Freshman
Amanda Ellsworth leads the Bengals with five goals scored. Throughout the 2011 season, she has not gone more than three games without scoring a goal. She posted back-to back scoring contests with a goal at Southern Utah and two goals in ISU's home opener. She took a two game break against Nevada and Brigham Young, before scoring at Idaho for her fourth goal of the season. She then took another two game break against Boise State and Utah State before posting her fifth goal of the season against New Mexico State. Ellsworth took her longest break of the season with three-straight non-scoring games against Utah, Utah Valley and Weber State and is itching to find the back of the net.
STRAWN HUNGRY FOR HER SECOND GOAL OF THE SEASON
Rachel Strawn is burning up the field looking for her second goal of the season. The junior forward is leading the Bengals in shots (26) and shots on goal (15) posting a .577 shot on goal percentage. Strawn has scored two goals each year, 2009 and 2010, and is hungry for her second goal of the 2011 season. Four of her five goals have been game winners. Strawn has notched 11 career assists.
STRAWN'S ACCURACY TO PAY OFF SOON
In the last five games,
Rachel Strawn has put 10 of her 12 shots on goal. All three of her shots against Utah Valley and New Mexico State were on goal. She was 2-for-2 at Utah State and 2-for-3 at Utah. She is the most accurate Bengal on the team with more than five shots taken.
BENGALS LOOK TO SNAP NON-WINNING STREAK
Idaho State looks to snap an eight-game non-winning streak. The Bengals longest non-winning streak was 14 games in 2008 including four tied contests.
HUTCHINGS-MALONEY SAVES ARE TOPS
Sophomore goalkeeper
Carly Hutchings-Maloney set the individual single-game season-high with 10 saves against Utah Valley then topped herself with ISU's current single-game season-high of 12 saves in Idaho State's Big Sky opener against Weber State. The 12 saves marks the second time she has tied the third best single-game save record at ISU with her first against Portland State in 2010. Hutchings-Maloney is three saves away from joining the top-10 single season records for saves.
OPENING BIG SKY PLAY
Last season, the Bengals ended their Big Sky opening contest against Northern Arizona at Davis Field in a 0-0 regulation tie. The game was delayed due to lightning then called on account of darkness.
BENGALS IN THE BIG SKY
Idaho State leads the Big Sky in shots with 183 and are second in the league for points with 41 and assists with 13.
Amanda Ellsworth is tied for fourth in points with 10 and tied for second in goals scored with five.
Allyson Stainbrook is tied for third in assists with three.
Carly Hutchings-Maloney is third in the league with 53 saves.
STRAWN ON WAY TO TOP-10 RECORD
Rachel Strawn recorded her 15th shot on goal of the season in her 3-of-3 shots to shot on goal effort against Utah Valley allowing the Bengal to overcome her shot on goal total from her freshman and sophomore seasons where she posted 13 each season. The straight shooter is just one shot away from breaking into the top 10 record for career shots on goal. She currently has 41 shots on goal over her career. She is also 11 shots away from the top-10 shots record at Idaho State. She currently has 74 shots over her career.
BACKLINE INJURY UPDATE: OLSON AND MARGOLIS
Junior defender
Morgan Olson is most likely out for the season after suffering multiple face fractures from an elbow to the face in ISU's contest against Utah Valley. Sophomore
Allyson Stainbrook is playing in the backline for Olson.
Lia Margolis who had been out for four games due to a leg injury made her return against Weber State. Freshman
Taylor McBride had covered Margolis' position until her recovery.
PERFORMANCE MATCHES NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR HONOR
Freshman forward
Amanda Ellsworth tied the 10th best single season goals record at ISU with five.
Ashley Jones, a junior midfielder, also tied the 10th best record her freshman year in 2009. It was the same year Jones earned Big Sky Newcomer of the Year.
STRAWN CONTRIBUTES TO SCORING OPPORTUNITIES FOR BENGALS
Junior forward
Rachel Strawn recorded her second assist of the season and 11th of her career when she sent a cross to
Kiley Godfrey 1:07 into the second period to give ISU its lone goal against NSCAA No. 7 West regionally ranked Utah State in ISU's 6-1 loss. Strawn's 11th career assist ties the Bengal for fifth best assist record at Idaho State. Strawn had two shots, both on goal, in her 58 minutes of play.
JONES ASSISTS ARE GAME WINNING
Junior midfielder
Ashley Jones leads the Bengals with two assists. What is really spectacular is that both of her assists have been on the game-winning goals against Southern Utah and Northwest Nazarene.
JONES ONE GOAL AWAY FROM TOP-TEN CAREER RECORD
Ashley Jones has recorded eight total goals over her career, five her freshman season and three her sophomore season. She is one goal away from tying the 10th best career record at ISU. Stacey Peterson-Allen owns the all-time record with 22 career goals.

Lightning caused the game to be stopped eight minutes into the second half with ISU ahead 5-0.
