Game Notes: Montana State
BENGALS IN ACTION THIS WEEK
The Idaho State men's tennis team will be playing their first match on record in Idaho Falls at the Apple Athletic Club on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Montana State.

The Bengals are 0-6 for the season but have had competitive matches against Utah State and Weber State.

MEN'S SINGLES STANDOUT - GROSS
Gross is ISU's best singles performer with a 5-1 record. He holds a three-match win streak capturing his third straight set win of the season when he defeated UC Riverside's Ryan Stanbury 6-1, 6-1, his strongest win of the season. Gross has locked down the No. 4 spot with a 3-1 record. He is 1-2 in tiebreakers and 1-0 in third set tiebreakers. Gross holds a career singles record of 11-8 and a 6-5 career record at the No. 4 spot.
BENGAL MEN POST DOUBLES WINS
ISU has captured two doubles matches this season, both at the No. 3 spot, but have yet to secure the doubles point. Senior Barrenechea and junior transfer
Rodrigo Azevedo teamed up for an 8-6 win over Ben De Marois and Michael Facey.
Colton Pate and Gross teamed up at the No. 3 doubles spot to post their first doubles win of the season overcoming Joe DeGuzman and Josh Lorentzen 8-3.
CAVALCANTI CAPTURES FIRST SINGLES WIN AS BENGAL
Freshman
Diego Cavalcanti, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, captured his first victory as a Bengal defeating Sacramento State's Mark Starcevic in three sets at the No. 3 spot in Idaho State's first conference dual match of the season. Cavalcanti fell in a tiebreaker in the first set 7-6 (7-5) but quickly turned his game around easily overcoming Starcevic 6-1 and 6-4 in the second and third sets.
BARRENECHEA HOLDS CAREER HIGHS
Barrenechea posts the most singles wins in a career since the 2007 season with 14. He is 14-31 (31.1 percent) over his career. Since 2007 he also ties for the most doubles wins in a career at nine with former Bengal Gal Horovits.
ABOUT MONTANA STATE
Montana State posts a 1-6 record having dropped its last five matches. Pawel Turzanski leads the Bobcats at the No. 1 spot with a 2-5 record. However, Alberto Fuentes (3-2 at No. 3) and Fletcher Keyes (3-4 at No. 2) lead Montana State in singles wins. Keyes and Turzanski post a 2-5 record at the No. 1 doubles spot.
SERIES INFO AND LAST MEETING WITH BOBCATS
Montana State leads the series 9-1 having fallen 5-2 in the last meeting on Feb. 15 at Reed Gym. In the last meeting Idaho State captured two singles victories and a doubles win. Barrenechea teamed up with Javier Royo at the No. 1 spot to capture a 9-8 (7-2) victory over Alberto Fuentes and Fletcher Keyes. Gross captured a 6-2, 6-2 win over Myles Perkins at the No. 5 spot and C. Pate defeated Joey Staszcuk by the same score at the No. 6 spot. The last time Idaho State defeated Montana State was in 2003 in a 4-1 decision at the Big Sky Conference Tournament hosted by Portland State.
