BOZEMAN, Mont. – Junior
Dan Buckingham captured the lone Bengal victory in ISU's 6-1 loss to Montana State Friday morning at the Anderson-Bobcat Tennis Center.
The Bengals were overcome in all three doubles matches 8-4 to start the contest down 1-0.
In singles, Buckingham defeated Diego Campos Contreras 6-4, 7-6 at the No. 4 position improving to 2-0 for the season at the spot.
Senior
Danel Barrenechea who is recovering from a cold fell to Pawel Turzanski 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1 position. Both freshman
Diego Cavalcanti and sophomore
Nate Gross fell 6-3, 6-4. Cavalcanti was overcome by Fletcher Keyes at the No. 2 spot hile Gross fell to Alberto Fuentes at the No. 3 position.
Montana State improved to 7-11 overall and 3-1 in leauge play whilethe Bengals fell to 3-13 for the season and 0-5 in Big Sky matches.
The Bengals play Montana in another Big Sky match-up exactly 24 hours after ISU's contest with the Bobcats. ISU plays Montana on Saturday, April 9 at 10 a.m. at the Peak Health and Wellness Racquet Club.
