She scored a season-high two goals from three shots on goal including the game-winning goal in the 4-1 victory over Northwest Nazarene in ISU's home opener.
Rachel Strawn, a junior forward, leads the Bengals in shots with 25 and shots on goal with 15. Nine different Bengals have scored at least one goal this season. Sophomore midfielder
Allyson Stainbrook leads the Bengals in assists with three while Strawn and
Ashley Jones have each had two assists.
BENGALS LOOK TO SNAP NON-WINNING STREAK
Idaho State looks to snap a seven-game non-winning streak. The Bengals longest non-winning streak was 14 games in 2008 including four tied contests.
STRAWN HUNGRY FOR HER SECOND GOAL OF THE SEASON
Rachel Strawn is burning up the field looking for her second goal of the season. The junior forward is leading the Bengals in shots (25) and shots on goal (15) posting a .600 shot on goal percentage. Strawn has scored two goals each year, 2009 and 2010, and is hungry for her second goal of the 2011 season. Four of her five goals have been game winners. Strawn has notched 11 career assists.
STRAWN'S ACCURACY TO PAY OFF SOON
In the last four games,
Rachel Strawn has put 10 of her 11 shots on goal. All three of her shots against Utah Valley and New Mexico State were on goal. She was 2-for-2 at Utah State and 2-for-3 at Utah. She is the most accurate Bengal on the team.
HUTCHINGS-MALONEY SAVES ARE TOPS
Sophomore goalkeeper
Carly Hutchings-Maloney set the individual single-game season-high with 10 saves against Utah Valley last week. ISU's previous individual single-game season-high was seven saves by Hutchings-Maloney against Brigham Young. With her 10 saves against the Wolverines, Hutchings-Maloney tied the 11th most individual saves in a game which is especially impressive since she faced 25 shots, one shot fewer than the fourth most shots ever faced by a Bengal both in the inaugural 1998 season when Chrissy Nelson faced 26 shots twice against Montana and Portland State. The Bengals set the team single-game season high with 13 saves against Utah Valley.
OPENING BIG SKY PLAY
The last time Idaho State opened Big Sky play with a victory was the 2009 season when Idaho State defeated Montana 3-1 at Davis Field. That was the same contest where
Ashley Jones set the record for most assists in a half with three in the first period. Last season, the Bengals ended their Big Sky opening contest against Northern Arizona at Davis Field in a 0-0 regulation tie. The game was delayed due to lightning then called on account of darkness.

STRAWN'S TOPS SETS HER OWN SEASON-HIGH, ON WAY TO TOP-10 RECORD
Rachel Strawn recorded her 15th shot on goal of the season in her 3-of-3 shots to shot on goal effort against Utah Valley allowing the Bengal to overcome her shot on goal total from her freshman and sophomore seasons where she posted 13 each season. The straight shooter is just one shot away from breaking into the top 10 record for career shots on goal. She currently has 41 shots on goal over her career. She is also 12 shots away from the top-10 shots record at Idaho State. She currently has 73 shots over her career.
