Bengals Fall in Four Sets to Syracuse

LOGAN, Utah - Redshirt freshman Danielle Downs led the Bengals with her second career double-double when she notched a team-high 13 kills and posted 13 digs.  Idaho State fell in four sets after capturing the first (26-28, 25-21, 25-16, 25-17) at the Utah State Invitational.  Syracuse improved to 5-1 while Idaho State fell to 2-5 for the season.

Idaho State struggled offensively hitting a .080 attack percentage for the match as Syracuse had 21 total team blocks.  The Bengals' best set was its first with a .122 attack percentage.  Syracsue did little better with a .190 hitting percentage for the match.

Three Bengals notched double-figures in digs led by libero Kylee Searle with 18 followed by outside hitter Breanne Van Every with 17 while Downs chipped in 13.  Lori Mendenhall, a sophomore, led ISU with 24 assists while senior Karissa Legaux notched 11 assists. 

Senior middle Vanessa Muir had seven kills and a team-high four block assists. 

Idaho State plays its final tournament of the preseason at the Wyoming Invitational.  The Bengals play Georgia State on Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.
