Box Score BOISE, Idaho- The Idaho State women's soccer team wasn't going to be denied in its season opener Friday afternoon vs. North Dakota State.
Rachel Strawn scored her second goal of the game in the 93rd minute of overtime to lead ISU to the 3-2 victory.

Allison Gibson said. “She is working everyday on finishing and is seeing her hard work pay off. She has taken a whole new leadership role. She is organizing our front line and being a leader.”
The Bengals were the aggressors the entire match as they outshot the Bison 22-6 and 11-3 with shots on goal. Strawn had five shot attempts, three being on goal while
Allyson Stainbrook, Alisha Cairl and
Kiley Godfrey each had three shots.
Along with Strawn's two goals, Godfrey had a goal and an assist and
Amanda Ellsworth recorded an assist. Strawn scored the game-winning goal on an assist from Godfrey.
“She has so much more confidence,” Gibson said. “That first goal for her was huge. She ran past four players and just put in a great ball.”
North Dakota State struck first in the 10th minute but it didn't take long for the Bengals to counter as

Kiley Godfrey put the Bengals on top 2-1 in the 64th minute but North Dakota State answered with a goal in the 65th to tie the game.
After Wednesday's scrimmage we wanted to work on our compactness on the field, movement of the ball, quality finishes and have better overall energy,” Gibson said. “We came out and nailed all four areas.”
The Bengals return to the field on Sunday vs. New Mexico State at 11:30 a.m. The match will be played at Boise State.
