SEATTLE, Washington – The Idaho State women's basketball team picked up their first true road victory of the season defeating Seattle University 63-55 Sunday afternoon in Washington.
"They really made us work tonight," Head Coach Seton Sobolewski said. Â "I think we are getting better in every practice and every game. We have to take better care of the ball though."
Four players scored in double-figures led by Grace Kenyon (16 points and eight rebounds), Jasmine Lemon (12 points and six rebounds) and Rebecca Schrimpasher (10 points and four rebounds) who were each playing in their home state.
The Bengal fans vastly outnumbered the Redhawk fans creating a pro-ISU crowd throughout the game. Â
"I thought we had a really nice scoring balance today," Sobolewski said.
Idaho State (4-6) held SU to just 25% from the field and forced 20 turnovers that led to 17 points. ISU trailed for only 12 seconds in the entire game.
The team closes out the non-conference schedule next Monday December 29 against the College of Idaho. The Bengals will host the Yotes at 7 p.m. on the Idaho Central Credit Union Court inside Reed Gym. Big Sky Conference play begins January 1 when Idaho State hosts the University of Idaho in Pocatello.Â
