By Matt Gittins, ISU Sports InformationPOCATELLO, Idaho – Hot shooting from the visiting Broncos doomed the Bengals as the Idaho State women's basketball team lost 86-62 to Boise State Thursday night on the ICCU Court inside Reed Gym.
Deanna Weaver led BSU with 28 points on 10-14 FG and 5-7 from beyond the arc. The Broncos shot 56.1% for the game and 66.7% in the second half.
"They made some fantastic shots," Head Coach
Seton Sobolewski said. "That's one of the most fantastic displays of shooting I've ever seen. They made us pay for every little thing we left open."
Grace Kenyon tied her career-high with 17 points. Three other players scored in double figures.
Jasmine Lemon and
Rebecca Schrimpsher had 11 points while
Anna Lee Policicchio added 10.
"It's a tough loss but hopefully we can learn from this and get better in the next game," Kenyon said. "We need to play smarter as a team and keep working hard."
The Bengals are back in action Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Drake University on the ICCU Court inside Reed Gym.
