The Bulldogs shot 47.4% (9-19) from behind the arc while holding the Bengals to just 5.3% (1-19) from the same range.
"We are a better perimeter shooting team than we showed tonight," Head Coach
Seton Sobolewski said. "We didn't shoot the ball well. Defensively we have some stuff to learn. Drake is a good team with a good system. They know how to counter however you defend them."
Apiphany Woods scored a career-high 23 points on 9-15 FG. She has scored in double-figures in three of the past four games.
"I thought she did a great job of bouncing back from the Boise State game," Sobolewski said. "I thought she played much harder tonight and hit some tough shots. She did some really good things for us on the interior."
"I lacked some energy against Boise State so tonight I wanted to come out with some intensity and some focus," Woods said.
The visitors from Iowa led by as many as 23 but ISU fought back to close the deficit in the second half.
Jasmine Lemon added 12 points while
Rebecca Schrimpsher led the team in rebounds with seven and assists with five.
Idaho State travels to Salt Lake City to take on the University of Utah next Wednesday. The Bengals will return home Saturday the 13th to face Utah Valley University at 2 p.m. on the ICCU Court inside Reed Gym.
