THIS WEEK IN IDAHO STATE BASKETBALL

Idaho State returns to action Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. when they welcome Northern Arizona to the Idaho Central Credit Union Court inside Reed Gym.

Mark Liptak will call both games live on WatchBigSky.com and on the WatchBigSky app as well on KISU Radio.

ABOUT NORTHERN ARIZONA
NAU is 2-2 in conference play after dropping their last game 66-53 to Weber State on Thursday

This will be the 62nd meeting between the two schools.  ISU holds a 35-26 advantage. The Bengals have won the last six matchups and ten of the last 11.

COACH SOBOLEWSKI ON THE LUMBERJACKS
"They've got some older players who are starting to come into their own. In years past I would say they would live and die by scoring but their coach Sue Darling has worked really hard to improve their defense and develop a defensive mentality with their team.  They have always had great scorers and some of the best offense in our conference. They can have their nights like against Portland State when they score 94 but hopefully they don't do that against us."

LAST GAME RECAP FOR IDAHO STATE
Idaho State fell 68-61 to Southern Utah. Grace Kenyon led the way for the Bengals with 16 points and 9 rebounds.

The Bengals led by as many as ten in the second half before the T-Birds responded to come away with the win.

HIT THE BOARDS
The Bengals are 6-2 this season when they have more rebounds then their the opponent but are just 1-7 when the other team has more rebounds

MAGIC NUMBER IS 70
ISU is 4-1 when they score at least 70 points in a game this season.  They are 25-2 in the last four seasons when they reach that mark.

On the reverse side the Bengals are 0-6 when they allow 70 or more points this year and 12-51 under Coach Sobolewski when allowing 70+.

BLOCK PARTY
Anna Lee Policicchio has blocked a shot in 12 of the last 13 games.  She is 47th in the nation with 2.19 blocks per game and 35 total. She has had multiple blocks in nine of the last 12 games including a  career-high five against the University of Houston and Utah Valley.

The Idaho State record for blocks in a season is 84 by Mandi Ortega in 1996-97.

DOUBLE-FIGURES FOR WOODS
Apiphany Woods has scored in double-figures in ten of the last 13 games including a career-high 23 points against Drake.
