WBB: Cat-Griz Road Trip Concludes in Missoula Saturday

IDAHO STATE GAME NOTES | LIVE VIDEO | LIVE AUDIO

THIS WEEK IN IDAHO STATE BASKETBALL

Idaho State travels north for their first Big Sky Conference road games.  The Bengals will take on Montana State on Thursday night in Bozeman before heading to Missoula on Saturday afternoon for a matchup with Montana. Mark Liptak will call the games live on 91.1 FM  KISU.

COACH SOBOLEWSKI ON THE ROADTRIP
"I think we approach it like any of our other games. Obviously there is a little bit more emphasis and importance because it's a conference game but we still have a lot more to go. We want to go out there and have a good showing and play hard."

ABOUT MONTANA
The Grizzlies (9-5, 2-1) is led by Head Coach Robin Selvig who is entering his 37th season with the school.  He is the only head coach in program history.   Montana leads the all-time series 66-8.

COACH SOBOLEWSKI ON THE GRIZZLIES
"Montana is usually the toughest place to play in the conference. They are always Top 25 in attendance and they are very confident and comfortable at home. I think a reflection of that is how well they did in the WNIT last season when they beat Washington State at home. They've got a hall of fame coach who is a great leader who knows what his teams need to do to win. He knows how to lead them and guide them that way."

LAST GAME RECAP FOR IDAHO STATE
The Bengals held off a late charge from Montana State to pick up their first Big Sky road win of the season.  Apiphany Woods scored a game-high 16 points while Katrina Bacovcin added a career-high seven points.

MILESTONE FOR SOBOLEWSKI
The game against Montana will mark Coach Sobolewski's 200th game as the Idaho State head coach. He becomes only the second women's coach in history to hit that number. Ted Anderson, who coached from 1987-88 to 1994-95, holds the all-time record with 214 games coached. If ISU makes the Big Sky Conference post season tournament Seton would break Ted's record in the opening game.

HIT THE BOARDS
The Bengals are 6-1 this season when they have more rebounds then their the opponent but are just 1-7 when the other team has more rebounds

MAGIC NUMBER IS 70
ISU is undefeated (4-1) when they score at least 70 points in a game this season.  They are 25-2 in the last four seasons when they reach that mark.

BLOCK PARTY
Anna Lee Policicchio has blocked a shot in eleven consecutive games.  She is 37th in the nation with 2.29 blocks per game. She has had multiple blocks in eight of the last ten games including a  career-high five against the University of Houston and Utah Valley.

DOUBLE-FIGURES FOR WOODS
Apiphany Woods has scored in double-figures in nine of the last 11 games including a career-high 23 points against Drake.  The junior shot 19-30 (63.3%) from the field over the last two games including 11-15 (73.3%) against EWU. She scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds in a win over the University of Idaho and had 22 points and four rebounds against Eastern Washington.
