Box Score PDFCEDAR CITY, Utah – The Idaho State soccer team was defeated by Southern Utah 4-2 Sunday afternoon in its final road conference match of the season. Although the Bengals matched their conference-high in goals with two, they were unable to combat two Thunderbird goals in both the first and second halves.
Idaho State (1-16-1, 0-9-0 BSC) fell behind early following SUU (8-8-1, 3-5-1 BSC) goals in the eighth and 14th minutes. The Thunderbirds fired off six shots in the first 14 minutes, but he Bengals locked down on defense and prevented the Thunderbirds from scoring on seven additional attempts for the remainder of the half. ISU secured the field for the remaining 10 minutes and left the pitch for halftime facing a one-goal deficit.
Following the break, the Thunderbirds extended their lead by two goals as they scored in the 61st and 82nd minutes. ISU was able to offset SUU's two goals, as junior forward

Vanessa Cabilan's blocked shot and connected for her first goal of the season. Idaho State was unable to overcome the two-goal deficit and fell to Southern Utah 4-2.
"We weren't able to match our performance from Friday," said Head Coach
Allison Gibson. "The travel and fatigue took its toll and we gave up a couple soft goals that we were not able to overcome."
Idaho State returns home for its final match of the season against Weber State Friday, Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. at Davis Field. The match will serve as Senior Night for ISU's four seniors,
