OGDEN, Utah – Idaho State (11-11, 6-5 BSC) watched their three-game winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon as Weber State defeated ISU 63-57 at the Dee Events Center in Ogden.
The Wildcats out rebounded the Bengals 42-27 including an 18-10 advantage on the offensive boards.
"The story of today is the o-boards which led to 17 second chance points," Head Coach
Seton Sobolewski said. "We've also got to make layups. We missed a whole bunch of point blank shots. You just aren't going to win that way. Kudos to yourself for putting yourself in a position to make a layup but now you have to do it."
Apiphany Woods led ISU scoring 15 of her 16 points in the second half. She also added six rebounds and two assists.
Grace Kenyon finished in double figures with 13 points. The redshirt freshman collected a career-high five steals.
The two teams exchanged the lead throughout the first half before Weber State closed on a 16-6 run to take a four-point advantage into the break they would never relinquish.
ISU continues their road-trip next week when they travel to Northern Arizona for a game on Thursday February 12 before journeying to Southern Utah on Saturday February 14.
