CEDAR CITY, Utah – The Idaho State women's tennis team rolled to one of their most dominant performances of the season defeating Southern Utah 6-1 Tuesday afternoon in Cedar City, Utah.
The Bengals captured the win in every match except for one including winning in straight sets in seven of the eight victories.
ISU has won two of their last three matches.
"The conditions were very difficult today due to the weather and the scheduling but the girls all played solid," Assistant Coach
Gretchen Maloney said. "There was some amazing tennis today. The girls really turned a negative into a positive."
Svenja Tegtmeier (6-0, 6-1) and
Madelyn Weltzin (6-1, 6-0) only dropped one total game each in their straight set singles victories.Â
Marian Tangarife improved to 7-6 on the season in singles matches with a (2-6, 6-3 and 6-3) come-from-behind victory.
It is only the second time this season Idaho State has recorded six points in a match.
ISU has two regular season matches remaining at Montana State (April 17) and Montana (April 18) this week.
