POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State Bengals Head Coach Gretchen Maloney announced the signing of Maïmouna Keita on Wednesday afternoon. Keita, a native of Limeil-Brévannes, France, will join the Idaho State Bengals for the 2026-27 season as a true freshman.
Bengals Head Coach Gretchen Maloney shared her thoughts on bringing Keita to Pocatello, "We are thrilled to welcome Maïmouna to our team. She is a talented, high-level player with extensive tournament experience, and we believe she will make an immediate impact on our lineup. Her aggressive style of play and power are exciting additions that will help make us stronger and more competitive. We're looking forward to next season and what this new group can accomplish together. I truly believe this team has the potential to do great things."
Keita chose Idaho State because it provided an opportunity to continue both her academic and athletic careers while competing at a high level in Division I tennis.
Standing at 5-foot-7, Keita brings a strong work ethic and competitive mindset to the Bengals program. In addition to tennis, she trains in boxing and enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and theater. Her passion for performance extends beyond athletics, as she considers acting one of her hidden talents.
Keita is the sixth member of the Bengals' 2026-27 signing class.
