Women's Tennis Brings Daisy Carpenter Onboard for 2026-27

POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State Bengals Head Coach Gretchen Maloney announced the signing of Daisy Carpenter on Monday. Carpenter, a native of Bromley, England, will join the Idaho State Bengals for the 2026-27 season after spending her freshman and sophomore seasons at Long Beach State University (2024-26).

Bengals Head Coach Gretchen Maloney shared her thoughts on bringing Carpenter to Pocatello, "We are really excited to have Daisy join us next year. Her experience at Long Beach State will help strengthen our lineup from day one.

She is dedicated and hard-working, and those qualities will set a great tone for our team. Her expertise in doubles will be a huge addition, especially with several new players joining the program. Daisy's positive energy on and off the court will help lead our team and continue building the culture we want every day."

Carpenter competed regularly in both singles and doubles during her two seasons at Long Beach State. During the 2025-26 campaign, Carpenter posted a 5-12 overall singles record, including a 2-2 mark in Big West Conference play, while also recording a 9-7 doubles record. She earned key singles victories against Seattle, Cal Poly, and Hawai'i during the season.

As a freshman in 2024-25, Carpenter finished with a 12-15 overall singles record and a 10-11 doubles mark while competing throughout the lineup for the Beach. She posted a 4-4 conference singles record while playing exclusively in the sixth flight during Big West action.

Prior to her collegiate career, Carpenter represented Team Great Britain as a junior while competing with The Parklangley Club. She won a national championship, finished as the 2023 ITF doubles runner-up, and claimed three Kent Schools doubles championships. Carpenter also represented England internationally and won her first national championship at the age of eight.

Off the court, Carpenter served as a house captain and psychology prefect while also earning her school's Philosophy Prize of the Year as a senior.

Standing at 5-foot-5, Carpenter will enter Idaho State as a junior and plans to pursue a degree in psychology. Carpenter cited the Bengals' team culture and welcoming coaching staff as major reasons for choosing Idaho State.

Carpenter marks the fifth member of the Bengals' 2026-27 signing class, and the second transfer.
