Women's Tennis Falls to Iowa State

LOGAN, Utah – The Idaho State women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Iowa State Friday afternoon in its first neutral-site match of the season, located at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club at Utah State.

Senior Svenja Tegtmeier moved up to the No. 1 singles position, facing Iowa State's Samantha Budai in the first match of the day. Freshman Nonie Alexandersen also moved up, representing Idaho State at the No. 3 singles position as did Taylor Cole playing in the No. 5 position.

Idaho State falls to 1-3 on the season, while Iowa State improved to 5-1.

"It was a tough day against a bigger, stronger team," Head Coach Gretchen Maloney said. "We really played solid doubles and it could have gone eitehr way. In teh singles, we all played close in the first sets."
