Results PDFPOCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State men's tennis team lost a grueling match Saturday afternoon to visiting Seattle, falling 4-3 after a five-hour battle with the Redhawks.
The Bengals lost the decisive doubles point early in the match, falling 6-4 at the No. 3 position and 6-2 at the No. 2 position.
"The doubles point proved to decisive," Head Coach
Mark Rodel said. "We know what we need to improve on and one thing you can count on with this group is that they continue to compete with character and determination."
Singles play was split, with Idaho State (1-6) claiming three wins and Seattle (2-9) claiming three as well. The Bengals bested the Redhawks at the Nos. 1, 2 and 5 positions with junior

William Edin besting John Stomans 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 and freshman
Francis Filipovich winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 against Connor Leahy.
"Sebastian and William came out strong today with wins at the No. 1 and 2 singles positions along with Francis," Rodel said.
The Bengals return to the court March 5 against Eastern Washington in Cheney, Wash.
