Final Results PDFPHOENIX, Ariz. – The Idaho State men's tennis team swept Arizona Christian 7-0 Thursday afternoon at the Phoenix Tennis Center in Phoenix, Ariz. The Bengals broke a 1-1 draw in doubles play to win the doubles point and earn their second-straight shutout victory.
Idaho State (6-8) started the day strong with juniors 
William Edin and 
Josh Goodwin defeating Arizona Christian's (5-10) Santiago Galeffi and Michael Munguia 6-2 at the No. 2 doubles position. ACU tied up doubles play with a 6-4 win over juniors 
Sebastian Edin and 
Bjorn Scheepbouwer at the No. 1 doubles position, and the doubles point came down to the No. 3 position. Freshman 
Francis Filipovich and junior 
Haseeb Khan bested ACU's Seth Moore and Macen Vargas 6-3 to for the 2-1 edge in doubles play to earn the doubles point.
In singles play, ACU tested ISU throughout the match, pushing two matches to three sets. The Bengals came out on top in all six singles matches for the 7-0 sweep of the Firestorm.
"It was a tough battle today despite the final score," Head Coach 
Mark Rodel said. "Our players adjusted well to playing outside, and they played with confidence and belief. It's not how we start, but how we finish the season, and right now, we are doing that."
Idaho State returns home April 2 for a conference matchup against Montana at 10 a.m.
