Results POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's tennis team handed Eastern Washington its first conference loss of the season, winning 6-1 in Cheney, Wash.
"Today was a pure team effort," Idaho State men's tennis coach
Mark Rodel said. "I am simply proud of how the team continues to compete and make improvements."
Sebastian Edin and
Josh Goodwin won the only doubles match for the Bengals. Despite the setback in doubles, ISU battled back in singles play.
Edin won his match at No. 1 singles over Victor Pereira, 6-4, 7-5.
William Edin then beat Wacil Bendielti at No. 2 singles 6-4, 7-5.
Bjorn Scheepbouwer beat Eduardo Bringhold 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
The Bengals
Francis Filipovich took out Vuk Vuckovic 7-6 (2), 6-2 and
Josh Goodwin beat Rendell Burghart 6-4, 7-6 (1). At No. 6 singles
Haseeb Khan beat Luke Ness 3-6, 6-3, 10-4.
"After losing the doubles point we came out with great focus and determination to sweep singles play," Rodell said.
The Bengals play at Portland State on March 7 at 4 p.m.
