POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team lost 6-1 in game 1 of the series at Portland State on Friday afternoon. Game 2 of the series was suspended due to weather with ISU leading 5-0 in the top of the fifth inning. Game 2 will resume at 11 a.m. mountain time with the Bengals at bat with no outs and nobody on.
In the loss, ISU out hit Portland State nine to seven but left 11 runners on base.
Ashlyn Ames took the loss, going the distance, allowing seven hits, six runs (four earned). She struck out two and walked two.

Alex Portesi and
Maddy Hickman each had two hits.
Idaho State trailed 4-0 after five innings. The Bengals scored their only run of the game in the top of the sixth inning when Portesi drove in Burnett. The Vikings scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to seal the win.
Game 3 of the series is still scheduled to start at 1 p.m. mountain time.
