Kuder Signs Free Agent Contract with the Green Bay Packers

POCATELLO, Idaho- Tyler Kuder knew he had a chance to play professional football the moment he arrived at Idaho State University. On Saturday, his dream came true as 20 minutes after the conclusion of the 2016 NFL draft he signed a free agent contract with the Green Bay Packers while watching the final day at Mama Inez.

Saturday was not only a dream come true for his football career but the excitement continued when he proposed to his girlfriend, now fiancé, once the deal was done with the Packers.

"After I signed it I was in shock and was like 'Holy Crap it's happening,'" Kuder said.

Kuder leaves for Green Bay on Thursday and will remain there for the next seven weeks. He will participate in rookie camp followed by OTA's and off season workouts.

"I am just going to work hard and get to know everybody," Kuder said.

Kuder said he is excited about the opportunity to head to Green Bay because the team needs depth at the nose tackle position.

Kuder added that he is grateful for the opportunity he had to play football at Idaho State because he had coaches who believed and pushed him to be prepared for when the NFL opportunity came.

"As soon as I transferred to ISU coach Kramer told me I definitely had a chance to make it to the next level," Kuder said. "And coach (Steve) Fifita really helped me realize that too. I appreciate all the support I received during my time at ISU."

Kuder earned first-team all-league honors as he had 92 tackles and 11 tackles for loss in 2015.

Several hours after signing with the Packers, Kuder said his mom and now fiancé won't stop crying. And on getting engaged, "I have been planning it for the last three months. As soon as I got the phone call I was going to pop the big question."
