POCATELLO, Idaho – Holt Arena will be experiencing a few upgrades this summer. With a generous donation from the Idaho Potato Commission, Idaho State Athletics has announced a partnership with Daktronics for video and scoreboard upgrades in Holt Arena over the course of the next few months.
"Idaho State Athletics is happy to partner with Daktronics on new Idaho Potato Commission video board at Holt Arena," Athletic Director
Jeff Tingey said. "We can't wait for our fans to see this newest enhancement to the Bengal fan experience when we open the 2016 season on
September 3rd."
The biggest enhancement is an approximately 12 feet high, 39 feet wide LED videoboard directly behind the east end zone featuring RGB 3-in-1 SMD pixel configuration with a color capacity of 281 trillion. The video board also features nearly 10 millimeter line spacing for additional clarity and contrast including a 170 degree horizontal viewing angle to ensure a great view from any seat in the arena.
Idaho State will also be upgrading the scoreboard on the west side of the arena. The board will stand eight feet high and 32 feet wide with two additional ad spaces eight feet wide on either side, and it will also feature LED lighting.
"This new audio and video platform is a game-changer for our fans," Tingey said. "It represents a quantum leap forward in the fan experience at Holt Arena."
Installment on the upgrades is set to begin mid-July and will be ready for use prior to Idaho State's home- and season-opener against Simon Fraser on Sept. 3.
