Game 10 Preview: Idaho State vs. UC Davis

POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State plays its final home game of the 2017 season on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 2:35 p.m. vs. UC Davis. Jerry Miller and Mark Liptak will call the action live on 102.5 KMGI. Audio, video and live stats are available at isubengals.com. The game can also be found on Pluto TV.

Series vs. UC Davis
Idaho State and UC Davis square off for only the third time in program history. UC Davis leads the series 2-0. ISU dropped a 52-45 contest in 2012 in Pocatello and lost 30-13 at Davis in 2013.

Scouting UC Davis
UC Davis is scoring 30 points a game and averaging 465.1 yards of total offense a game. The Aggies pass for 346.9 yards and rush for 118.2 yards a game. The UC Davis defense gives up 29.8 points a game and 439.8 yards of total offense. The Aggie defense allows 206.2 rushing yards and 232.8 passing yards a game.

Quarterback Jake Maier has thrown for 2,675 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Keelan Doss is one of the top wide receivers in FCS football as he has caught 80 passes for 1,121 yards and seven touchdowns. Justin Williams leads the running attack with 366 yards on 92 carries and three touchdowns.

Today is the final home game for nine seniors. Playing their final game in Holt Arena is JonRhyeem Peoples, Nikko Hayes, Skyler Phillips, Hagen Graves, Chase Collins, Micah Breland, Andrew Burtenshaw, Zak Johnson and Mario Jenkins.

- ISU has guaranteed itself a winning record at home. The Bengals are 3-1 with its only loss being to Montana. In 2013 ISU was 3-3 at home and in 2014 the Bengals were 6-0 at Holt.

Notes vs. Montana State
- Colton Belnap was the special team's captain with Mario Jenkins and Hagen Graves.
- ISU's 96-yard touchdown drive was the sixth time this year it has scored on a drive of 90 yards or more.
- Before Tanner Gueller's fourth quarter interception, he had had gone 165 passing attempts without an interception.
- This is the third time this season James Madison has rushed for over 100 yards. He had 105 yards on 30 carries. 30 carries is the second most of his carries.
- Oshea Trujillo had a career-high six tackles.
- Adkin Aguirre's interception was the third of his career.

Freshman and Sophomores Make Immediate Impact
In the season opener vs. Western Oregon the freshmen and sophomores accounted for 399 of the teams 431 yards of total offense.  Through eight games the youngsters have combined for 6725 rushing yards on 145 carries and 10 touchdowns and the receivers have caught 120 passes for 1,947 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Big Play Bengals
The Idaho State offense has shown a knack for making the big plays through eight games. Already this year the Bengal offense has 82 plays of 10-19 yards; 31 plays of 20-29 yards, 12 plays of 30-39 yards; 5 plays of 40-49 yards and 7 plays of 50 yards or more.
