POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State women's basketball hits the road for a game at UC Irvine Sunday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. MST. It will be the first of two road games for the Bengals, as Idaho State faces Pepperdine Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. MST.
SCOUTING UC IRVINE
· The Anteaters are off to a 1-1 start for the 2017-18 season as they picked up a win against Utah State at home followed by a road loss at UNLV. This season, UC Irvine was picked to finish eighth in the Big West in the Preseason Media and Coaches' Poll after finishing the 2016-17 season 5-26 with a 3-13 record in conference play.
· So far this season, UC Irvine averages 70.5 points per game while giving up 78.5 points per contest. The Anteaters shoot 35.8 percent from the floor including 22.9 percent from three, and they average 37.5 rebounds per contest with 18 turnovers per game.
· Three players average double-figures for UC Irvine, led by Yazzy Sa'Dullah with 12.5 per game. Tahlia Garza averages 10.5 points while Jordan Sanders adds 10.0. Both Sa'Dullah and Garza lead the team in rebounds with 7.0 and 6.0 respectively.
· The 'Eaters are led by Head Coach Tamara Inoue who is in her second season at the helm of the program.
· SERIES REVIEW: The Bengals lead the overall series 5-1 including a 2-0 record in Irvine, Calif. In the last meeting, Idaho State defeated the 'Eaters 65-54 in Pocatello on Nov. 19, 2016.
BENGAL BITES
· Idaho State is off to its best start since going 5-0 to start the season in 1997-98. The Bengals are 3-0 with wins at Seattle, at No. 25 Washington and at home against College of Idaho.
· After three games, the Bengals are averaging 80.7 points per game shooting 53 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three. ISU averages 47.7 rebounds per game with a +20.0 rebounding margin to go along with 8.3 steals per game and 3.0 blocks per game.
· Three players average double-figures for Idaho State, led by senior guard
Brooke Blair with 20 points per game. Sophomore guard Estefania Ors averages 12 points per game while sophomore forward
Sai Tapasa all averages 10 points per contest.
· Three Bengals also average at least seven rebounds per contest led by Tapasa with an even 9.0. Sophomore forward Irene Vicente averages 7.7 while junior guard
Saylair Grandon averages 7.0.
· In the first three games, the Bengals have made use of their depth by playing 11 players deep. So far this season, Idaho State's bench has outscored its opponents 81-43.
· This season, the Bengals were picked to finish eighth in the Big Sky Coaches' Preseason Poll and seventh by the media.

Seton Sobolewski is in his 10th season with the program and carries a 153-131 overall record (.538) and has led the team to two postseason tournament appearances: one NCAA tournament berth and one WNIT tournament appearance.
USING THEIR DEPTH: So far this season, Idaho State's bench has stepped up to out-score its opponents' bench 81-43. The Bengals have played 11 players so far this season, and seven players average at least 18 minutes or more per contest.
