Women's Basketball Continues Play on the Road at Wyoming

POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State women's basketball team continues play on the road as it faces Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo. Sunday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m.

BENGALS PREVIEW

· The Bengals suffered just their second loss of the season Friday evening at Washington State in a 72-55 loss in Pullman. Idaho State trailed by just eight points with 3:39 remaining, but an 11-2 Cougar run sealed the 17-point WSU win.

· Through seven games, the Bengals are averaging 73.3 points per game shooting a conference-best 43.5 percent from the floor and 46.3 percent from three. ISU averages 42.4 rebounds per game with a +9.6 rebounding margin to go along with 8.4 steals per game and 1.9 blocks per game. The Bengals also boast a conference-best +12.1 scoring margin.

· Idaho State is led in scoring by senior guard Brooke Blair at 15.1 points per game while junior guard Saylair Grandon also averages double-figures with 11.7 points per game while sophomore forward Sai Tapasa adds 10.1. Five players average at least nine points per contest.

· Four Bengals average at least five rebounds per game, led by Tapasa with 6.9 per contest. Junior guard Grace Kenyon adds 6.0 per contest.

· Head Coach Seton Sobolewski is in his 10th season with the program and carries a 155-133 overall record (.538) and has led the team to two postseason tournament appearances: one NCAA tournament berth and one WNIT tournament appearance.

SCOUTING WYOMING

· Through seven games, the Cowgirls are 4-3. After starting the season 4-0 with wins against Adams State, Montana, Denver and Drake, Wyoming has lost its last three. Over the last three games, the Cowgirls have averaged just 48.3 points per contest.

· On the season, Wyoming averages 60.1 points per game for a +4.3 scoring margin shooting 41.2 percent from the floor. The Cowgirls average 32.7 rebounds per game to go along with 12.1 assists and 6.4 steals. Wyoming ranks third in the Mountain West in turnovers per game with an average of 12.9.

· Liv Roberts leads the squad in scoring as the only player to average double-figures with 11.7 per contest. Roberts also leads the rebounding effort with 6.4 while Clara Tapia and Taylor Rusk lead the team in assists with 24 and 22 on the season respectively.

· Wyoming is led by Head Coach Joe Legerski who is in his 15th season with the program.

· SERIES REVIEW: Wyoming leads the overall series 19-5, and the Cowgirls have won the last nine meetings. The last time these two programs met, Wyoming bested Idaho State 76-40 in Laramie on Nov. 30, 2009. The last time ISU defeated Wyoming was with a 95-92 OT win in Pocatello on Nov. 20, 1999.
