POCATELLO, Idaho –
The Idaho State women's basketball team returns to play this Thursday with its first home game in over a month and its final nonconference game. The Bengals welcome Westminster to Reed Gym Dec. 28 for a 7 p.m. tipoff.

BENGALS REVIEW

· Idaho State is 7-3 through 10 games, and it's the best start for an Idaho State squad since the 2007-08 season. During that season, the Bengals were 7-3 through 10 games and improved to 8-3 before falling to Boise State 78-74 to finish non-conference play 8-4.

· Through 10 games, the Bengals are averaging 70.0 points per game shooting 44.0 percent from the floor and a conference-best 40.8 percent from three. ISU averages 41.6 rebounds per game with a +9.3 rebounding margin to go along with 7.4 steals per game and 15.2 assists per game. The Bengals also boast a conference-best +9.1 scoring margin.

· Idaho State is led in scoring by Blair at 14.0 points per game. Three other Bengals average at least 10 points: Sai Tapasa, 10.6; Saylair Grandon, 10.5 and Grace Kenyon at 10.5. Estefania Ors is close behind at 8.7 per game.

· Tapasa leads the rebounding effort with a 7.0 per game average while Kenyon and Grandon each average at least six per game with 6.2 and 6.0 respectively.

· Head Coach Seton Sobolewski is in his 10th season with the program and carries a 157-134 overall record (.540) and has led the team to two postseason tournament appearances: one NCAA tournament berth and one WNIT tournament appearance.

SCOUTING WESTMINSTER

· The Griffins are 4-6 overall with a 3-3 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. They have won three of their last five contests; Thursday's game will be an exhibition contest for the Griffins but will count toward ISU's overall record.

· Through 10 games, Westminster College is averaging 61.9 points per game shooting 42.5 percent from the floor and 31.6 percent from three. The Griffins average 33.2 rebounds per game in addition to 17.7 turnovers per contest.

· Two players average double-figures for Westminster, led by Denise Gonzalez with 12.7 per game while Hunter Krebs chips in 11.1 points per game. Krebs and Gonzalez also lead the Griffins in rebounding with 6.2 and 4.9 per game respectively.

· Westminster is led by Head Coach Shelley Jarrard who is in her seventh season with the program.

· SERIES REVIEW: This is the first meeting in program history between the two schools.
