POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State women's tennis team picked up a 4-1 win over Weber State Friday morning at the tennis courts at Reed Gym.
"I loved the attitude and determination the team showed today," Head Coach
Gretchen Maloney said. "It was a tough match against a very good Weber State team. The doubles point came down to the final few points, and the girls played really smart in singles play and made adjustments when needed."
In doubles play, Weber State (1-12, 1-3 BSC) took the early lead with a 6-3 win at the No. 3 doubles position. Idaho State (6-9, 4-3 BSC) battled back as
Hristina Cvetkovic and
Megan Poe picked up the 7-6 (4-0) win at No. 2 doubles and
Huibre-Mare Botes and
Louise-Mare Botes closed out doubles play with a 7-6 (5-0) to claim the doubles point.
In singles play, two of the six matches went unfinished, and the Bengals won three of four singles matches to seal the win.
Idaho State continues play Saturday, April 1 against Northern Colorado at 10 a.m. at the tennis courts at Reed Gym.
