Bengals Ranked No. 24/25

 
POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State football team is back in the national rankings for the first time since the start of the 2015 season. Idaho State jumped into the rankings this week after its 48-45 win at Portland State. ISU is ranked No. 24 is the STATS Media Poll and 25th in the FCS Coaches Poll.

"Idaho State football has demonstrated the University's commitment to excellence that is starting to permeate through our entire community," Idaho State University President Kevin Satterlee said. "We belong in the Top 25."

Idaho State started the 2015 season ranked No. 22 and 24 in the media and coaches poll. The Bengals stayed in the national rankings for the following week before falling out of the polls.

Idaho State ended the 2014 season ranked No. 25 in the final Sports Network poll. Prior to the end of the 2014 season the Bengals were ranked for two weeks in October during the 2005 season, 11 weeks during the 2003 season and five weeks during 2002.

Idaho State is 6-3 overall and 5-1 in the Big Sky Conference. The Bengals play at Cal Poly on Saturday, Nov. 10. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. mountain time.

"We are excited and are going to celebrate our student-athletes and coaches in this moment," Idaho State Interim Director of Athletics Pauline Thiros said. "The ranking raises our expectations of ourselves further and from the top to bottom we are setting to the work of exceeding it."

Idaho State closes out the 2018 regular season on Nov. 17 with a home match up against No.3/4 Weber State. Kickoff for that game is at 2:35 p.m.
