POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State athletics would like to wish all a merry Christmas, happy New Year and wonderful holiday season. This year, a few of our foreign student athletes shared with us the best gift they have given.
Dora Goles; Women's Basketball; Split Croatia
The best gift I've given my parents was good grades because that's what they always want. They want me to be successful in school.
Callie Bourne; Women's Basketball; Canberra, Australia
We got my mom a Pandora's bracelet and then we get her a charm occasionally. Each charm represents something and when I left I got her a world charm.
Nuria Barrientos; Women's Basketball; Barcelona, Spain
We gave my grandma a personalized book with photos of her past, granddaughters and grandsons.
Lukas Ridemar; Men's Tennis; Hollviken, Sweden
The best Christmas gift I ever gave to someone was probably airpods to my girlfriend because I was in love with her.
Fynn Lohse; Men's Tennis; Kalterkirchen, Germany
Probably the best Christmas gift is for my little cousin this year. It's a big ISU teddy bear.
Gary Rendek; Men's Tennis; Budapest, Hungary
I think the best gift that I've ever given was to my family, a gift for skiing. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go with them last year for Christmas because I had to come back to the U.S. for college. I helped out a little bit with the money so they could go skiing in Austria so that was awesome.
Balint Mocsan; Men's Basketball; Budapest, Hungary
This year I finally got the chance to send some gifts back home to my family. It's actually just some Christmas socks that I'm going to send to my parents and my sister. I'm really happy about it because the last two years I couldn't send them anything.
Hristina Cvetkovic; Women's Tennis; Nis, Serbia
Every time I come back from Serbia I bring a lot of Serbian chocolate to a lot of athletes, some of the staff at Holt and the coaches. They get so happy and excited, so seeing them smile with appreciation and making their days better makes me happy.
