COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Idaho State women's tennis team collected four singles wins and two doubles victories on the final day of the Bedford Cup at the Air Force Academy. Each of the four ISU singles wins were won in straight sets.
Melissa Coburn faced a Big Sky opponent in Montana State's Zander. The first set was a tight, back-and-fourth affair with Coburn outlasting her opponent 7-6. She made quick work of the Bobcat in the second set with a 6-1 win.
Megan Poe and
Hristina Cvetkovic each took down a player from Northern Arizona. Poe cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win and Cvetkovic won both of her sets 6-4.
Poe and Cvetkovic also defeated the hosts in doubles, narrowly winning 9-8 (5). Coburn and
Madison Fenske took the other doubles win with an 8-4 victory over Boise State.
Louise-Mare Botes earned the lone nonconference singles win against Wyoming's Kaftanova. Like Coburn, she battled in the first, winning 7-5, before a 6-1 win to claim the match.
