POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State soccer returns to the pitch at Davis Field for a Saturday game against Utah State University starting at 1 p.m. The contest is soccer's Hometown Heroes Game presented by Mountain America Credit Union; all military and emergency services personnel with a valid ID will gain free admission, and their family members will be admitted at a discounted $3 rate.

Idaho State is still looking for its first win of the season. Last week the Bengals lost a closely contested game to Wyoming 2-1 at Davis Field. They were also defeated by BYU on the road.

Laule'a Akana-Phillips has emerged as the leader between the posts for Idaho State. She has recorded four or more saves in three-consecutive games.
Idaho State has had the difficult task of playing from behind all season. They have yet to secure the first goal of any match.
Scouting Utah State
Utah State was winless until defeating Towson 3-1 on Sunday, Sept. 2. They enter the contest with a 1-2 record after losing games against Sam Houston State and Minnesota.
Utah State failed to score in its first match, but has scored four goals in the last two games. Sara Noel, Erin Rickenbach, Ashley Cardozo and Marli Niederhauser have all tallied one goal for USU. Cardozo and Niederhauser each have an assist as well. Cardozo claimed an All-Mountain West Team nod last season and was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Second Team.
Senior Grace McGuire has spent all but one half of play in net for the Aggies, accumulating 13 saves on 35 shots faced while allowing three goals.
Heather Cairns enters her 16th season as the head coach of Utah State. She, like ISU Head Coach
Allison Gibson, is the winningest head soccer coach in program history with a 154-117-37 record.
Idaho State has a 6-10-1 record against Utah State all-time. They are 3-3-1 against the Aggies at home after losing 2-0 at Davis Field last season. Utah State has claimed the last four games in the series.
