POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State Bengals defeated the Arizona Christian Firestorm 93-36 in Reed Gym Tuesday night.
Idaho State shot 39-77 from the field, for a 50.6 shooting percentage. They also went 6-16 from beyond the three point arc and 9-11 from the free-throw line.
The Bengals led by as many as 61 points and four Bengals scored in the double digits.
Ellie Smith led the team in scoring with a career-high 14 points. She was 7-9 from the field with three boards and one assist. She also recorded two blocks in the game.
Callie Bourne, Estefania Ors and Tomekia Whitman also scored in the double digits with the trio accounting for 33 of the Bengals 93 points. Ors finished with 12, Bourne 11 and Whitman 10.
On the glass, the Bengals were dominant recording 40 rebounds,16 coming on the offensive end. The Bengals accounted for 22 second chance points. Dora Goles and Ors led the team with five and six boards apiece.
Defensively, the Orange and Black forced 33 turnovers with 17 steals leading to 52 points. Diaba Konate led the team with four steals.
