POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's basketball team hosts Cal Baptist on Monday, Dec. 16, at 5 p.m. (MST) in its final home game before Big Sky conference play starts on Dec. 28. 

The game is a doubleheader as the men's host UC Santa Barbara at 7:30 p.m. (MST) in Reed Gym. All seating is general admission except for the courtside seats. The purchase of general admission tickets to the women's basketball game allows for admission to the men's game. The game will feature live stats, video, and audio brought to you by Mark Liptak and KISU 91.1. The pregame show will begin at approximately 4:40 p.m. (MST).

Scouting Cal Baptist
Cal Baptist finished its 2018-19 NCAA Division 1 debut season with an 18-12 overall record, including a second-place finish and an 11-5 record in the Western Athletic Conference. The Lancers would go on to host the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT), becoming just the second team to qualify for and host the WNIT in its first season in NCAA Division 1. CBU fell to Pepperdine, 91-79, in the first round of the post-season tournament. The program is led by eighth-year Head Coach Jarrod Olsen who was named WAC Coach of the Year in 2019.

CBU has a young team with over half the roster listed as underclassmen. The team also includes five international players from Australia, Canada, Iceland, and Spain. Lexy Ram, Georgia Dale, Ane Olaeta, Delacy Brown, and Tiena Afu are the projected starters for CBU. Senior Britney Thomas, who earned pre-season All-Conference honors, will not be playing due to injury.

Ram leads the team with 140 points, shooting 47-119 (.395) from the field and 27-80 (.338) from three, the team's highest three-point attempts. She also leads the team with 80 boards. Dale is 38-98 (.388) from the floor with a .655 free-throw average while leading the team in steals with 21. Olaeta, who earned second-team All-Conference last season, is 50-140 (.357) from field-goal range, .864 from the free-throw line, and has recroded a team-high 63 assists. 

Brown is shooting 23-74 (.311) from the floor. Afu, who transferred from the College of Southern Idaho her junior year, is 41-88 (.466) from field-goal range and 16-39 (.410) from beyond the three-point arc. She is second on the team in rebounds with 70 and is tied for first in blocks with ten.

CBU started the season 7-0 but has gone on to record five straight losses including a 83-78 loss against No. 3 Stanford. Overall, the team is shooting 332-843 (.394) from the field, 133-401 (.323) from three, and 155-214 (.724) from the free-throw line while producing 41.5 boards per game.

The two team's last matched up on Nov. 7, 2018, in Riverside, Calif, ending in a 72-57 ISU victory. The game was CBU's first game as a Division I school. Estefania Ors recorded 19 points with the Bengals scoring 16 points off of 14 Lancer turnovers.

Idaho State is No. 32 in field goal percentage with a .458 average and No. 17 in assists with an 18.1 average. Redshirt junior Dora Goles is No. 34 in the country in three-point field goal percentage at .471.

Big Sky Rankings
ISU leads the Big Sky in field-goal percentage with a .458 percentage and is second in three-point field goal percentage at .380. The Bengals lead the conference in assists with 127 for 18.1 per game. Goles is third in both steals (16 - 2.3 per game) and three-point field goal percentage (.471). Ellie Smith is third in field goal percentage (.575) and fifth in blocked shots with 10. Callie Bourne is third in defensive rebounds with 37 for 5.2 per game.

Recap: Arizona State
ISU fell 74-69 in overtime to Arizona State on Sunday afternoon. The Bengals shot 43 percent (26-61) from the field and 47 percent (8-17) from three-point range. The Bengal defense held the Sun Devils to 17 percent from three (2-12) and scored 25 points off of 25 ASU turnovers. ISU also produced a season-high six blocks and 13 steals. 

Dora Goles scored a career-high 26 points. She was 10-18 from the field and made a career-tying 5-7 from beyond the three-point arc. She also tallied four boards, one block, and four steals. The game marked her second-consecutive game breaking her career-high in points.

Callie Bourne and Diaba Konate each scored 13 points. Bourne was 5-9 from the floor and 3-4 from three. Konate hit a career-high 13 points, going 7-8 from the free-throw line.

Following the game against Cal Baptist, Idaho State will travel to Logan, Utah to face Utah State on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. (MST).
