POCATELLO, Idaho - The Idaho State women's basketball team hosts Northern Arizona on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. (MST) in Reed Gym.

Scouting Northern Arizona
The Lumberjacks have a veteran roster that includes eight upperclassmen, six redshirts, and two graduate transfers. The projected starters are Khiarica Rasheed, Nina Radford, Jacey Bailey, Lauren Orndoff, and Caitlin Malvar.
Rasheed is second in the Big Sky in scoring, averaging 15.2 points per game while leading the conference in field-goal percentage (.540). She leads NAU in rebounds with 75 for 5.8 per game and has a team second-best 17 steals.
Radford is third in the Big Sky in scoring behind Rasheed, averaging 14.3 points per game and shooting 65-150 (.433) from field-goal range and 22-35 (.418) from three. She leads the conference in free-throw percentage (.892) and has a team second-best five blocks and second-best 39 assists.
Bailey leads the team in three-pointers made, going 24-80 (.300) from three while shooting 61-162 (.377) from the floor. She averages 5.4 boards per game and has recorded 14 steals. Orndoff is 41-97 (.423) from field-goal range and is producing 9.5 points per game.
Malvar leads the conference in assists with 70, averaging 5.4 per game. She produces 6.3 points per game, shooting 25-74 (.338) from the field. She leads NAU in steals with 20 and has a team second-best 72 boards for 5.5 per game.
NAU, who was picked eighth in both the coaches' pre-season poll and by the media, has tallied a 5-8 record so far in the 2019-20 season and is 2-2 in the Big Sky with a huge 114-107 double overtime victory over Sacramento State on Thursday night. Overall, the team is shooting 351-834 (.421) from the field, 90-260 (.346) from three, and 175-234 (.748) from the free-throw line. They lead the Big Sky in scoring offense with 74.4 points per game and are second in defensive rebound percentage (.713).
The Lumberjacks finished their 2018-19 season with an 13-18 overall record and a 8-12 conference finish. NAU would make it to the second round of the Big Sky Tournament before falling 90-73 to Idaho. The team is led by third-season Head Coach Loree Payne. After posting seven victories in her inaugural season, Payne nearly doubled NAU's win total to 13 in her second year. The Lumberjacks' Big Sky win total also doubled from four in 2017-18 to eight in 2018-19 and Payne's second season ended with the program's first conference tournament win in 12 years.
Each team walked away with a victory in last season's match-ups. The last meeting ended in a 81-77 NAU victory on Feb. 7, 2019, in Pocatello. The Lumberjacks fired 46 percent from the floor, 65 percent (13-20) from three point range and 78 percent from the line in getting their first win at Reed Gym in 10 years
ISU leads the all-time series, 41-29, and has won seven of the last 10 and four of the last five meetings. Head Coach

Idaho State is No. 40 in the nation in assists per game with 16.3 per game, No. 26 in three-point field goal percentage (.367), and No. 45 in three-point field goal defense (.270).
Big Sky Rankings (As of Jan. 10)
ISU leads the Big Sky in field-goal percentage (.432) and offensive rebound percentage (.369). The Bengals are second in three-point field goal percentage (.360), assists (207- 15.9 per game), and rebounding defense with 457 boards.
Callie Bourne is fourth in the BSC in rebounds with 99 for an average of 7.6 per game and third in defensive boards with 76.
Dora Goles is second in steals with 30, averaging 2.3 per game and fifth in 3-pointers made with 28.
Ellie Smith is third in blocked shots with 25.
Recap: Southern Utah
The Bengals fell 72-65 in overtime to Southern Utah on Thursday night in Cedar City.
Southern Utah out-shot Idaho State 22-57 to 25-70 from the floor and 9-17 to 6-21 from three. ISU out-rebounded SUU 37-33 and had five Bengals score in the double digits.
Ellie Smith led with 12 points and a career-high nine boards.
Diaba Konate followed with 11 points and Bourne, Goles, and
Tomekia Whitman all added 10. ISU also recorded 12 steals, led by Konate with a career-high five steals.
