The Idaho State women's basketball returns home to host its first conference game of the season against Sacramento State on Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. (MST) in Reed Gym.

The game will feature Live Stats, Video, and Audio brought to you by Mark Liptak and KISU 91.1. The pregame show will begin approximately 20 minutes before game time.

Scouting Sacramento State
The Hornets roster includes four junior college transfers, two DI transfers (Buffalo and Nevada) and one international player from Germany. The projected starters are Gabi Bade, Milee Enger, Camariah King, Tiana Johnson, and Kennedy Nicholas who earned first-team all-conference honors in the preseason poll. Summer Menke has also started 11 games for the Hornets.

Bade leads the team with 149 points, shooting 54-157 (.344) from the field and a team-high 28-97 (.289) from three. She also leads the team in assists with 38 and is second in rebounds with 65. She has also recorded a team-high 27 turnovers. Enger has a team second-best 25 assists while going 18-69 (.261) from the floor and 11-48 (.229) from three-point range. King has a second-best three-point percentage at .278 (15-54). Johnson leads the team in field-goal percentage at .516 (33-64) and is shooting an impressive 23-25 (.920) from the free-throw line.

Nicholas averages 11.7 points per game, shooting 39-78 (.500) from field-goal range. She leads the Hornets with 68 boards and has a team-high 10 blocked shots. Menke is the team's second leading scorer, averaging 11.3 points per game while shooting 45-121 (.271) from the floor and 16-59 (.271) from three. She leads the team with 23 steals.

Sac State has recorded a 2-9 record so far in the 2019-20 season and is 0-2 in the BSC with losses against Montana State (85-48) and Montana (64-60). Overall, the team is shooting 280-840 (.333) from the field, 98-392 (.250) from three, and 127-289 (.672) from the free-throw line. The Hornets are ninth in the country for offensive rebounds per game (17) and 14th in turnovers forced with 22.5 per game. They lead the conference in points averaging 71.4 per game and steals with 132 for an average of 12 per game.

Sac State finished its 2018-19 season with an 10-19 overall record and a 6-14 conference finish. The Hornets would make it to the first round of the Big Sky tournament before falling 74-69 to Northern Arizona.The team is led by seventh-season Head Coach Bunky Harkleroad. In six years under Harkleroad, the Hornets have twice broken the NCAA Div. I single season records for 3-pointers made and attempted and have established new Big Sky conference game records in points (132), steals (30), and made 3-pointers (25).

The two teams last matched-up on January 31, 2019 in Sacramento, Calif. ISU outscored the Hornets 22-4 in the second quarter to take control and finish the game in a 56-42 victory. The Bengals held Sacramento State to 24 percent from field goal range and eight percent from three. ISU shot 45 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range in a solid road win.  

ISU leads the all-time series 40-7. The Bengals have been victorious in six of the last 10 meetings including five consecutive wins over the Hornets since 2017. Sobolewski is 16-7 in his career vs. Sacramento State.

ISU leads the Big Sky in field-goal percentage (.438) and offensive rebound percentage (.360). The Bengals are second in three-point field goal percentage (.354), assists (178 - 6.2 per game), and defensive boards (382).

Callie Bourne is third in the BSC in rebounds with 86 for an average of 7.8 per game and tied for first in defensive boards with 65. Montana Oltrogge is tied for first in free-throws, going a perfect 11-11. Dora Goles is third in steals with 26, averaging 2.4 per game and fifth in 3-pointers made with 21. Ellie Smith is tied for third in blocked shots with 18.

Recap: EWU
The Bengals defeated Eastern Washington in a 20-point victory, 67-47, on Monday night. Idaho State out-shot EWU 50 percent to 30 percent from field-goal range and 36 percent to 25 percent from three. ISU showcased a team effort victory with 10 Bengals putting points on the board. Delaney Moore led with a season-high 14 points and a season-tying six boards that contributed to 41 ISU rebounds. Callie Bourne led the team with eight boards. 

Ellie Smith recorded a career-high four steals while adding seven points and three boards. Diaba Konate grabbed a career-high seven boards and career-high five assists.
