POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's basketball team defeated Northern Colorado, 63-50, on Wednesday evening in Reed Gym.

ISU (4-1, 2-0) shot 41 percent from the field (24-59) and 36 percent from the three point arc (5-14) while shooting 83 percent from the free-throw line (10-12). The Bengals scored 17 points off of 20 UNC turnovers. Northern Colorado out rebounded Idaho State 39-36.

Estefania Ors and Diaba Konate each tallied 14 points for ISU followed by Callie Bourne finished with 13. Montana Oltrogge led the Bengals on the boards with nine. Bourne finished with seven and Ors with six.

The Bengals led for all but three minutes of the game and used a strong fourth quarter to pull away.

Idaho State led 26-25 at halftime and went on a 6-0 run to start the third to lead 32-25 with 8:39 minutes left in the quarter. The Bears kept it close the rest of the quarter. The Bengals led by as much as eight at 40-32 and had a 40-34 advantage going into the final quarter.

The Bengals took a 43-34 lead with 8:22 left in the game after an Ors' three pointer from Bourne. A 3-pointer from Oltrogge with 3:51 left gave Idaho State its biggest lead of the game at 55-39.  UNC's 11 points in the final three minutes of the game wasn't enough to combat ISU's effort.

Idaho State held Northern Colorado to 15 percent shooting in the third quarter and 26.7 percent in the fourth.

ISU returns to action on Dec. 31 against Weber State in Ogden, Utah.
