POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's basketball team defeated Kansas State, 65-50, on Tuesday afternoon in Manhattan, Kans.

ISU shot 40 percent from the field and 42 percent from three while holding KSU to just 30 percent from the field and 20 percent from three.Â

Dora Goles led the Bengals with 18 points after going 4-7 from beyond the three-point arc and 7-10 from the field. She also recorded three boards and three assists.
Estefania Ors scored in double-digits in her second straight game with 11 points along with two steals, five boards, and four assists.Â

Montana Oltrogge came alive in the third quarter, scoring 11 points on 3-4 from three and 4-5 from the field.

The Bengals had 40 boards led by
Callie Bourne with 12.

After a quarter with two ties and four lead changes, the Bengals ended the first quarter down 17-14. The ISU defense fought off three KSU three-pointers in the quarter to keep the score close.

Back-to-back layups from
Delaney Moore and
Ellie Smith brought the Bengals to a 18-17 lead to start the second quarter. Kansas State led 24-22 at halftime after both teams were held scoreless in the final five minutes of the quarter. Â

The Bengals outrebounded the Wildcats 19-17 in the half with six coming from the offensive side. Bourne grabbed six in the half while Ors and Moore went up for three a piece.

ISU was on fire in the second half. Bourne broke the silence to kick off the third quarter with a layup assisted by Smith to tie the game at 24. Goles followed with back-to-back three's and a jumper just before Oltrogge nailed back-to-back three's to extend the Bengal lead to 38-24. The 14-0 ISU run accompanied a 11 minute KSU drought that started in the first half.

Oltrogge, Goles, and Ors each tallied 3's and layups from Bourne and Smith extended the ISU run to 29-8 to end the third quarter up 51-32. The Bengals made seven three's and shot 61 percent from the field in the quarter to take an impressive lead heading into the final quarter.

KSU started the fourth with a 13-1 run to cut the score by eight. Ors answered back with two three-pointers and a jumper in the quarter followed with Goles with her fourth three-pointer of the night.Â

The Bengals made 16 threes in the second half to give them the advantage over KSU.

The victory marks ISU's third win over a Power 5 program since 2016. The previous two wins were at No. 25 Washington, 79-59, on Nov. 12, 2017 and against Wisconsin, 42-35, on Dec. 6, 2016.Â

ISU starts conference play on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. against Northern Colorado at home in Reed Gym.
