POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's basketball team won its conference opener, 74-67, against Northern Colorado on Monday night.

The Bengals shot 46 percent from the field, 38 percent from three, and 90 percent from the free-throw line in the victory. Four Bengals scored in double digits led by
Dora Goles with 15 points,
Callie Bourne with 14,
Estefania Ors with 13, and
Diaba Konate with 12.Â

Bourne was on fire, shooting 5-9 from the field and 2-3 from three while leading ISU with 11 boards, five assists, and three steals.

A deep three-pointer from Ors gave ISU an early 5-4 lead in the first quarter and UNC would not get that close the rest of the game. Ors added two more three's in the quarter to give ISU a 21-20 lead heading into the second quarter.

Idaho State extended its lead in the second quarter after shooting 44 percent from the field and 50 percent from three against UNC's 36 percent from field-goal range and 0-4 from three. The momentum gave ISU a 41-34 advantage heading into half time.

The Bengals took their biggest lead of the night at 52-41 in the third quarter. ISU would go on to outscore Northern Colorado, 16-13, in the third to maintain a 10 lead heading into the final quarter.

UNC's 50 percent shooting from field goal range and from three in the fourth quarter wasn't enough to combat the Bengals as ISU walked away with the seven-point victory.
