Bengals Take Down Weber 55-41

POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's basketball team defeated Weber State, 55-41, on Thursday night in Reed Gym. 

The Bengals' shot 39 percent from the floor against Weber's 30 percent while each team grabbed 35 boards. 30 of ISU's points came from the paint while scoring 17 points off of 21 Weber turnovers. 
 
Callie Bourne led the Bengals in her fourteenth consecutive double digit game with 11 points while going up for nine boards. Diaba Konate followed with ten points. 
 
Ellie Smith had a career-high night with 13 rebounds.
 
The Bengals had a ten point lead at 14-4 in the first quarter before Weber went on a 10-2 run to cut the ISU lead by two at 16-4. Dora Goles hit a three-point shot with 46 seconds left in the quarter to give the Bengals a 19-14 lead heading into the second. The Wildcats out- rebounded the Bengals 12-9 in the quarter. 
 
ISU held Weber to just five points in the second quarter while putting up 15. A three-point shot from Nuria Barrientos brought ISU back to a double digit lead, 27-16, with 6:20 minutes left. ISU would feed off the momentum, taking the double digit lead to the end of the half leading WSU, 34-19. 
 
The Bengals' shot 52 percent from the field in the half, while holding the Wildcats to just 28 percent. They each finished the half with 16 boards.
 
WSU went on a 12-2 run in the first five minutes of the third quarter to cut the ISU lead,34-29. ISU answered back going on a 14-4 run to gain back a double digit lead, 48-33, heading into the fourth quarter. 
 
Weber State out scored ISU in the fourth quarter, 8-7, but it wasn't enough as the Bengals pulled away in a 55-41 victory.
