POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's basketball team lost 61-50 to Idaho on Friday night in Reed Gym.
ISU was outshot by the Vandals 43 percent to 33 percent from field-goal range. The Bengals held Idaho to just 3-20 from the three point arc and forced 18 turnovers.
Dora Goles led the Bengal offense with 21 points.
Diaba Konate had 15 points, five assists and two steals.
Idaho State was out rebounded 50-27.
Montana Oltrogge had a team-best six.
The game was tied at eight with five minutes left in the first quarter. ISU went on a 9-3 run that was highlighted by two 3-pointers from Goles and Moore to end the quarter up 17-11.
The Vandals held ISU to just two points the first six minutes of the second quarter while scoring nine to take a lead at 20-19. With just two seconds left in the half, a steal and a fast break layup from Goles gave the Bengals back the lead at 25-24 Â heading into halftime.
Idaho outscored ISU 22-13 in the third quarter to take a 46-38 lead. Idaho State was held to two points in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter, allowing the Vandals to jump out to a 56-40 lead with 3:51 to play.
Idaho State finished the game on a 6-0 run to fight back from a 17-point deficit to end the game down 61-50.
The Bengals begin the Big Sky conference tournament next week in Boise, Idaho at the No. 3 seed. ISU's first game will be on Tuesday, March 10 at 8 p.m. vs. the winner of Weber State and Southern Utah, who face off on Monday.
