Cross Country Heads to Texas A&M

| By:
POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State cross country coach Nate Houle has a plan with his team. With each meet over the course of the fall it is to prepare them for the Big Sky Conference championship. This year that will be held on Oct. 30 in Portland, Ore.

On Saturday, Idaho State races in its final meet before conference at Texas A&M in the Arturo Barrios Invitational at the Dale Watts Cross Country Course.

"We have raced conservatively to this point," Houle said. "We are ready to take the training wheels off and go for it on Saturday. This is the meet we want to button everything up in preparation for conference and region."

The 8,000m men's race starts at 9 a.m. central time. The 6,000m women's race starts at 9:45 a.m. central time.

"We are going to run at sea level like we will at conference," Houle said. "The course will be flat and fast. The pressure of competing in a large event is something we want to replicate for conference. We've been here before so we are excited to compete."

The Bengals are one of 38 women's teams competing and 36 men's teams.

The men will race Eric Christen, Collin Dylla, Sam Jones, D'Artagnan Kilgore, Dylan Mannion, Zak Montoya and Brandon Walker.

The women will race, Laura Alicke, Madi Kenyon, Haven Lambrite, Mya McKown, Cassandra Vasquez, Katie Weedn and Keely Wolf.
