POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State soccer fell 1-0 in their final homestand against Sacramento State on Sunday afternoon at Davis Field.
The first-half remained scoreless with both teams pressing but neither being able to find the net. The Bengals were able to keep Sac State to five shots in the first-half.
In the second-half, the Bengal defense continued to play tough. Sacramento State came out aggressive with 11 shots.
McKayla Wetsel played the entire game in goal and had five saves.
After 86 minutes with no score, Sacramento State was able to sink a shot past Wetsel on a break-away with 3:51 remaining on the clock. The Bengals pressed hard, getting multiple chances in the last 3 minutes but were unable to respond.
The Bengals took 13 shots against the Hornets with 5 on target.
Gabby Warta and
Taylin Butterbaugh led the way with 3 shots each.
ISU soccer travels to Greeley, Colorado to take on the UNC Bears on Friday, October 22. The Bengals then conclude their regular season in Missoula, Montana when they face the University of Montana Grizzlies on Sunday, October 24.
