Gallery: (10-30-2021) Idaho State vs. Weber State
POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State football team lost 40-17 to No. 23 Weber State on Saturday afternoon in Holt Arena.
Weber State led the entire game and had 405 yards of total offense while the Bengal offense was held 193 yards.
Tanner Conner had 110 yards receiving on seven receptions and
Jared Scott had five receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown.
Charles Ike led the Bengal defense with 13 tackles.
Jayden Dawson had five tackles and a 45-yard interception for a touchdown.
Weber State led Idaho State 10-0 at the end of the first quarter.
David Allish kicked a 37-yard field goal with 9:26 left in the second quarter to cut the Wildcat lead to 10-3. Weber State would take a 17-3 later in the second quarter but the Bengals countered to cut the their deficit to 17-10 after Scott scored on a 16-yard touchdown reception with 1:09 left until halftime.
On the opening possession of the third quarter WSU kicked a field goal to up the lead to 20-10.
Later in the third quarter Dawson had a pick six when he returned a 45-yard interception from Bronson Barren for a touchdown to cut the Weber lead to 20-17 with 5:30 to play. On the ensuing kickoff Rashid Shaheed returned the kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown to extend the lead to 27-17. Weber State would score two more touchdowns to put the game away.
Idaho State plays at BYU on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 1:30 p.m.
