#13 Idaho State vs #4 Kentucky: How to Follow the Action

San Antonio, Texas – The #13 Idaho State women's basketball program is set to face the #4 Kentucky Wildcats Sunday afternoon.

Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. Mountain Time and will air on ESPN.

Scouting Kentucky

The Wildcats finished the regular season 17-8 playing a tough SEC schedule. They finished ranked 18th in the AP poll.

UK is led by First-Team All-American Rhyne Howard who averages 20.7 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game and was named the SEC player of the Year.

The Wildcats second, Chasity Patterson averages 12.8 points per game is shooting .385 from behind the three point arc.

This is the first meeting of the two programs.

This is the fourth NCAA appearance by the ISU woman since the start of the 2000-2001 season. They have also made five WNIT appearances in that time. 

 

Since the Big Sky moved the post season tournament to a neutral site starting in the 2015-2016 season, ISU is now 12-5. 

 

Overall ISU is now 16-11 in the Big Sky Conference post season tournament under Seton. 

*3-0 in first round games 

*7-5 in quarter final games 

*4-4 in semifinal games 

*2-2 in title games 

  

The Bengals have guaranteed themselves a winning season in conference play at 18-2. It is the tenth time in 13 years under Seton this has happened. 

 

The 22-3 start to the season is the best in program history. Program is 46 years old. 

 

The 20 wins marks the seventh time in program history they have accomplished this. It has happened under Seton Sobolewski as head coach four times, and three times in the last four years. 

 

They finished the season 11-0 at home. It is only the second time in program history a club went undefeated at home for the year. The 2000-2001 team went 15-0 counting the two games in the post season tournament played in Pocatello. 

 

In the last 20 games Delaney Moore and Ellie Smith have combined for 357 points and 180 rebounds out of the post. That's an average of 17.8 points and nine rebounds a game. Ellie is now in ninth place all-time in blocked shots with 97. Next up is Grace Kenyon with 105 blocks. She played from 2014-2019 (missed two years with ACL injuries). Ellie needs 17 points for 400 in her career. Delaney needs 27 points for 700 in her career. 

 

Estefania Ors has scored 1,347 points, she is now sixth all-time, passing Ash Vella with 1,341 points.

  

Delaney Moore stands at 119 games played and is now in eighth place all-time. Next up are Michele Grohs, Devin Diehl and Kaela Oakes with 122 games played. She needs 14 rebounds for 400 in her career. 

 

Dora Goles is now in sixth place with 136 made three-point shots. Next up is Chelsea Pickering with 138. She played from 2007-2012.  Dora is now at 903 points in her career. She is at 253 assists in her career. 

 

Diaba Konate needs three points for 600 in her career. 

 

Montana Oltrogge needs 11 points for 500 in her career. She needs 10 more made three-point shots for 100 in her career and she needs seven more rebounds for 200 in her career.  

 

Sobolewski has now coached 400 games.
